Senior Consultant – Product Design Engineering, London

PDD is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Consultant in Product Design Engineering to join our London studio. This role is ideal for professionals with over 10 years of experience in product development and a passion for creating innovative solutions from concept to production.

As a Senior Consultant, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams to develop complex products that balance usability, aesthetic appeal, and technical functionality. You’ll interpret briefs, prepare proposals, research technologies, and create inventive technical concepts. Your responsibilities will include 3D CAD modelling, risk analysis, prototype management, and detailed design for manufacturing, including engineering drawings and specifications.

You’ll play a key role in managing project teams, costs, and timelines, liaising with suppliers, and presenting to clients. You’ll work across sectors like healthcare, consumer, and industrial, leveraging your expertise in materials, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements.

We’re looking for a candidate with a 1st or 2:1 degree in Product Design Engineering (or equivalent), exceptional CAD skills (SolidWorks), strong sketching ability, and familiarity with processes like moulding and machining. Excellent communication, project management experience, and client relationship skills are essential. Additional qualifications include expertise in regulatory-compliant designs, workshop skills, and familiarity with Arduino or Python.
